Kibi Kōgen is a rural plateau region in Okayama Prefecture on the island of Honshu, Japan. The area is notable for its agricultural landscape and a concentration of ancient burial mounds from the Kofun period.
A compact network of quiet country roads and cycling paths crosses the plateau, offering a signed loop of roughly 16 kilometers that connects shrines, village streets and scenic rice fields. The open landscape provides close views of numerous small kofun mounds-earthen burial mounds visible from public roads and short trails.
The plateau contains burial mounds and other remains dating to the Kofun period (roughly 3rd to 7th centuries AD). Over subsequent centuries the area became established as farmland; many of the ancient features remain visible within modern agricultural parcels.
