Khazret Sultan
Mountain Highest Uzbek peak and popular mountaineering destination
Khazret Sultan is the highest point in Uzbekistan, reaching an elevation of 4,643 metres. It is located in the mountain ranges of southern Uzbekistan and forms part of the country’s highest terrain.
The peak lies within the Surxondaryo Region in the western part of the greater Pamir-Alay mountain system near Uzbekistan’s border with neighbouring states. It is a recognised national high point and a reference summit for mountaineering within Uzbekistan.
The mountain and surrounding ranges are the product of regional tectonics that formed the high relief of Central Asia; access and approaches are from the surrounding highland valleys.
