How to Get to Kenora
Kenora is served by a regional airport (YQK) with flights to Winnipeg and by Via Rail at Kenora station; the most flexible access is by road from Winnipeg. Seasonal variations (winter weather, summer tourism) can affect schedules so plan accordingly.
Kenora Airport (YQK): Kenora has a regional airport with scheduled flights from Winnipeg and charter options. Flights from Winnipeg take about 1 hour; local taxi or shuttle from Kenora Airport to town is a short 10-15 minute ride.
Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG): Winnipeg is the main international gateway. Driving from Winnipeg to Kenora is about 2.5-3.5 hours (roughly 200-250 km) depending on route and traffic; shuttle services and regional flights connect the two cities as well.
Train: Kenora is on the Canadian rail network and is served by Via Rail (Kenora station) on routes connecting to Winnipeg and points west; service frequency is limited so check schedules and book in advance.
Bus: Intercity bus services are limited; some regional shuttle operators and charter buses run between Kenora and Winnipeg or other regional centres. Driving remains the most flexible option for many visitors.
