The Kamenny Islands are a group of river islands in the Neva River delta within the federal city of Saint Petersburg, Russia. They form part of the city’s historic riverine layout and include tree-lined embankments and built-up residential areas.
The islands are home to 18th and 19th century villas, parks and landscaped areas that were developed as elite residential districts in the imperial period. Many buildings date from the 19th century and the area retains a residential character with gardens and avenues.
Geographically the islands lie a few kilometres northwest of central Saint Petersburg in the Neva delta, connected to the city by bridges and embankments and bordered by other Neva islands and channels.
- Best views: Easily seen from river and harbour boat routes that run through the Neva delta, which give good views of villas and parkland along the shores.
