How to Get to Kalulushi
Kalulushi is reached by road from Ndola and Kitwe, with Ndola airport the nearest air arrival point. Shared minibuses and intercity buses are the standard public transport; taxis fill in gaps for last‑mile travel.
Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport (NLA), Ndola: Ndola’s airport is the closest commercial airport to Kalulushi in the Copperbelt. From Ndola airport you can hire a taxi or take local minibuses toward Kalulushi; the drive is roughly 30-45 minutes depending on traffic and costs vary-taxis are significantly more expensive than shared minibuses.
Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN): Lusaka is much farther (several hours by road) and is only a practical option if flying into the capital and continuing overland by bus or private car to the Copperbelt.
Train: Zambia’s passenger rail network in the Copperbelt has limited regular passenger services; check Zambia Railways for current services between Ndola, Kitwe and other towns.
Bus / shared minibuses (combis): Matatus/shared minibuses and intercity buses operate between Ndola, Kitwe and Kalulushi. These are the common and affordable way to travel inside the Copperbelt-journey times and fares vary by operator and route.
