Kalinjar Fort Archaeological Site

Kalinjar Fort is a historic hill fort in Uttar Pradesh that occupies a sandstone ridge on the southern edge of the Vindhya range and has been a strategic stronghold in central India for centuries. The complex includes fortifications, temples and defensive gateways.

The fort complex contains ramparts, gates and a number of temples and shrines clustered on the ridge top, with stone stairways and bastions that define the defensive circuit. Visitors typically explore the fortified enclosures and temple precincts and make use of the panoramic viewpoints.
