Jyväsjärvi lies adjacent to Jyväskylä city centre. From Jyväskylä railway station and the Matkakeskus (central bus station) the main lakeshore is a 10-20 minute walk (about 1-1.5 km) - head east from the station toward the water; local city buses also stop on routes that serve the lakeside.
If driving from Helsinki, follow the E75 / national road 4 (Vt4) north to Jyväskylä (about 270 km, roughly 3-3.5 hours), then follow signs to the city centre and the lake.
