Juriques is a high Andean stratovolcano on the Altiplano near the Bolivia-Chile border, notable for its conspicuous cone and high summit. The peak reaches roughly 5,704 metres above sea level.
Juriques is a volcanic edifice formed in the Pleistocene-Holocene volcanic activity of the central Andes; it does not have a human-built history but has long been a landmark for local travellers and modern mountaineers.
The cone sits on the high Andean altiplano near the Bolivia-Chile frontier in the southwest of Bolivia’s high plateau region, within the broader landscape that includes salt flats, high-elevation lagoons and other volcanic peaks.

- Access: Sits immediately alongside the better-known Licancabur volcano and is commonly approached from bases on the Bolivian altiplano or from San Pedro de Atacama on the Chilean side.
How to Get to Juriques #
Juriques is reached from the southern Altiplano region, often approached via Uyuni and overland tours that cross Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve toward the Chilean border. Travel in this region is usually by guided 4x4 tour due to remoteness and road conditions.
