Juovvajávri sits well off the main roads of Finnmark. The nearest sizeable settlement is Kautokeino; from there expect long gravel roads and rough tracks requiring a 4x4, or guided transport. In winter the area is reachable by scheduled snowmobile tours or with local Sámi guides; in summer hikers approach from marked trails or by arranging private boat or ATV transport from the nearest county road.
