How to Get to Jiyuan

Jiyuan is reached most easily via the major Henan hubs of Zhengzhou (Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and Zhengzhou East railway station) or the smaller Luoyang Beijiao Airport. From those hubs you transfer to regional trains or intercity buses that serve Jiyuan; allow 1.5-3 hours total travel time depending on connections.

By Air

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO): Zhengzhou Xinzheng is the main international gateway for Henan. From CGO, take the airport shuttle bus to Zhengzhou city (25-40 CNY, ~40-60 minutes) or the metro connection to Zhengzhou East railway area (Line 2/airport express; ~8-12 CNY, ~30-40 minutes). From Zhengzhou you can continue to Jiyuan by regular train or intercity bus (see Train & Bus card) - total travel time to Jiyuan typically 1.5-2.5 hours depending on connections.

Luoyang Beijiao Airport (LYA): Luoyang is a smaller regional airport west of Jiyuan. From LYA you can take an airport shuttle or taxi into Luoyang city (shuttle ~20-30 CNY, ~30-50 minutes) and then catch a regional bus or train towards Jiaozuo/Zhengzhou with onward connections to Jiyuan. A direct taxi from Luoyang airport to Jiyuan will be faster but more expensive (expect ~150-300 CNY, ~60-90 minutes depending on traffic).

By Train & Bus

Train: The nearest major rail hubs for reaching Jiyuan are Zhengzhou (Zhengzhou Railway Station and Zhengzhou East, served by high‑speed trains) and Jiaozuo (Jiaozuo Railway Station). High‑speed services to Zhengzhou/East are frequent from across China; from Zhengzhou you can transfer to regional trains or buses toward Jiyuan. Typical HSR fares to Zhengzhou vary widely by origin; regional rail or fast conventional trains from Zhengzhou/Jiaozuo to the Jiyuan area are short (around 30-90 minutes) and usually cost in the low tens of CNY.

Bus: Long‑distance coaches run from Zhengzhou and Jiaozuo bus stations to Jiyuan (intercity coaches commonly 15-40 CNY, ~40-90 minutes depending on origin). Within Henan, express/intercity buses are frequent; check the local bus station or online booking platforms for schedules. For last‑mile travel from bus/rail stations in Jiyuan use local taxis or city buses.

How to Get Around Jiyuan

Getting around Jiyuan is easiest by combining intercity train or bus into the city with taxis or local buses for last‑mile travel. For most visitors, arriving via Zhengzhou (air or HSR) and then taking a regional bus or train into Jiyuan strikes the best balance of speed and cost.
