Jardim do Príncipe Real is a public garden and small square in the Príncipe Real neighborhood of central Lisbon, north of Bairro Alto. It occupies a compact urban block and functions as a local green space and meeting point.

The site offers shaded paths, seating and planted beds amid mature trees and is surrounded by cafes, boutique shops and 19th-century townhouses. The garden is often used by locals for short visits, informal gatherings and nearby shopping rather than as a large formal park.

The square and garden date from the 19th century when the Príncipe Real neighborhood was developed as a residential area for Lisbon’s bourgeoisie. The layout and planting reflect its role as an urban pocket park serving the surrounding district.

The garden sits in central Lisbon’s Príncipe Real neighborhood, a short walk uphill from Bairro Alto and west of Avenida da Liberdade, within the Lisbon District.

A 10-15 minute walk north from Bairro Alto/Chiado or a short ride on the Glória funicular from Restauradores. Closest metro: Rato (Yellow Line) or Baixa-Chiado (Blue/Green transfer) with a 10-15 minute walk.
