Jaigaon sits on India's border with Bhutan (across from Phuentsholing). The practical gateways are Bagdogra airport and Hasimara railhead, followed by a short road transfer. Shared jeeps and taxis are the most common last-mile options.
Bagdogra Airport (IXB), Siliguri: The closest major airport serving the region around Jaigaon. From Bagdogra to Jaigaon expect a road journey of roughly 4-6 hours depending on traffic and stops; shared taxis, private transfers or pre-booked cars are common (prices vary; expect several hundred to a few thousand INR for private transfers).
Other regional airports: Kolkata (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport) is another option for international flights, but it is significantly farther away (8-10+ hours by road).
Train: Hasimara Railway Station (HSA) is the nearest railhead to Jaigaon/Phuentsholing (roughly 15-25 km depending on route). Trains from Kolkata, New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and other Bengal/Assam stations stop at Hasimara; from Hasimara take a taxi or local transport to Jaigaon (20-40 min).
