The Jaffa Clock Tower is an Ottoman-era clock tower standing in Old Jaffa in the Tel Aviv District, erected in the early 20th century as part of a wave of tower construction across the Ottoman Empire. It is one of the most recognisable landmarks at the entrance to the historic port quarter of Jaffa.
The tower functions as an urban landmark and meeting place and is set amid market streets, cafes and historic buildings that form the Old Jaffa visitor area. Its presence marks the transition between the modern city and the older port neighbourhood.
The clock tower was built during Ottoman rule as a civic monument and reflects municipal and imperial initiatives of the period; over the 20th century it has been integrated into the modern urban fabric and tourism circuit of Jaffa.
The tower stands in the heart of Old Jaffa, near Yefet Street and the harbour, within walking distance of Tel Aviv’s southern promenade and the Jaffa Flea Market.
