Jabrin is a prominent fortified castle in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate in northern Oman, best known as a 17th-century castle and palace complex. It combines defensive features such as towers with residential chambers and decorated interiors.
The castle was built in the late 1600s as a fortified residence and administrative centre and later fell out of military use as regional politics changed. Today the site is preserved as a historical monument and is visited for its architecture, courtyards and interior decoration.
Located along routes through Oman’s interior plateau, Jabrin sits within Ad Dakhiliyah among other historical forts and towns and is accessible from larger centres in the region.
