Jabal al-Lawz

Jabal al-Lawz is a prominent mountain in Tabuk Province in northwest Saudi Arabia, rising to roughly 2,580 metres and forming part of the rugged Hijaz mountain range. It is a locally prominent granite peak in a sparsely populated region.

The mountain offers rocky terrain and wide views from the summit area; it attracts hikers and researchers interested in geology and landscape rather than developed tourist infrastructure. Trails and off-road routes lead into the surrounding highlands, but services are limited.

The peak has also been the subject of alternative-historical proposals linking it to biblical narratives; these claims are debated and not widely accepted by mainstream historians and archaeologists. Apart from these proposals, the area has a modest local history tied to pastoral and nomadic use of the highlands.

Geographically it lies in northwestern Saudi Arabia in Tabuk Province near the border region with Jordan and within view of the Gulf of Aqaba on clear days; access requires travel on rough roads into a remote mountain area.
