How to Get to Iwata, Shizuoka

Iwata is best reached by rail via the JR Tokaido Main Line; the nearest Shinkansen hub is Hamamatsu Station. For air arrivals use Shizuoka (FSZ) for the shortest ground transfer or Haneda (HND) for more international connections, then transfer by train or bus into Iwata.

By Air

Shizuoka (Mt. Fuji) Airport (FSZ): From Shizuoka Airport you can take the airport shuttle bus to Hamamatsu Station (change there for JR services to Iwata). Typical bus time to Hamamatsu is about 40-50 minutes and fares are roughly ¥1,000-¥1,300 (one way).
