How to Get to International Peace Garden

By car: from Dunseith, North Dakota, follow Highway 281 north to the international park entrance (about 6 miles/10 km); from Boissevain, Manitoba, access via Manitoba Highway 10. The garden straddles the border; bring identification for the international crossing.

Tips for Visiting International Peace Garden

  • Cross the international boundary on foot to experience both the U.S. and Canadian sides of the gardens.
  • Visit in early June when peonies and many spring bulbs are in bloom.
  • Bring a windproof layer - the prairie can be unexpectedly breezy even on warm days.
