Inani National Park

Inani National Park is a protected coastal area in Chittagong Division, Bangladesh, located along the Bay of Bengal near the Cox’s Bazar area. The park protects coastal forest, beach and nearshore habitats characteristic of the southern Bangladeshi coast.

The park is known for its long sandy beaches with distinctive coral-stone outcrops and intertidal zones, offering opportunities for beach walking, coastal birdwatching and observation of marine shoreline features. It is a lesser-known national park compared with larger inland reserves but is locally important for coastal conservation.

The area has traditionally been used by local communities for fishing and coastal livelihoods and has been designated for protection to conserve shoreline vegetation and marine-influenced habitats. Management aims to balance conservation with sustainable local use.

Geographically the park lies on the southern coast of Bangladesh in Cox’s Bazar District within Chittagong Division, facing the Bay of Bengal and forming part of the coastal plain south of the larger urban centres of the division.

• Best time to visit: Best visited in the dry season (roughly November to April) when coastal conditions are drier and sea conditions are calmer for beach access and birdwatching.
