Imbert is a short drive inland from Puerto Plata. Most visitors fly into Gregorio Luperón (POP) and continue by taxi, local bus or rental car to reach Imbert and nearby beaches or towns.
Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP - Puerto Plata): Puerto Plata is the closest major airport to Imbert. From POP to Imbert the drive is typically 20-40 minutes; taxis and private transfers are available at the airport and are the most convenient option for visitors.
Cibao International Airport (STI - Santiago): Santiago’s airport is another regional option (longer drive). From Santiago you can take intercity buses or a rental car to Puerto Plata/Imbert.
Train: The Dominican Republic does not operate passenger rail services in the Puerto Plata/Imbert area.
Bus: Local ‘carros públicos’ (shared cars), minibuses and intercity bus services run from Puerto Plata town to Imbert and neighbouring communities.
