Hoverla
Mountain Ukraine's highest peak in the Carpathians
Highest peak in Ukraine’s Carpathians offering steep alpine meadows above beech forests. Hikers approach from nearby towns, follow marked trails and use mountain huts for multi‑day treks.
Hoverla is the highest mountain in Ukraine, rising to 2,061 m in the Chornohora range of the Carpathian Mountains. It is a prominent national high point and a popular objective for day hikes and multi-day treks.
Hikers approach the summit via several established trails from different valleys; the routes traverse alpine meadows and rocky ground near the summit and are busiest in summer months. The summit provides broad views over the surrounding Carpathian ridges and valleys.
The peak sits on the ridge that forms part of the administrative border between Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions, within the Carpathian National Park and the Chornohora massif. Access is typically from mountain towns and trailheads in the region.
