How to Get to Hospet

Hospet (Hosapete) is best reached by rail or road; Hosapete Junction is the town's main railway hub and several regional airports serve the area via onward road connections. The nearest commercial airports are Hubli and Bengaluru (Kempegowda International) - from both you'll continue by taxi, bus or train to reach Hospet.

By Air

Kempegowda International Airport (BLR): The main international gateway for Hospet; from the airport you can take a prepaid taxi or a private cab to Hospet - expect about INR 4,500-7,000 and roughly 6-7 hours on the road depending on traffic. A cheaper option is the BMTC Vayu Vajra/Airport shuttle to Bangalore city (≈INR 250, 1-1.5 hours) and then an overnight train or KSRTC/ private bus to Hospet (see train/bus card for fares and times).

Hubli Airport (HBX): Hubli is the closest commercial airport with connections to major cities. Road transfer by private taxi from Hubli to Hospet takes about 3-4 hours and costs around INR 2,500-3,500; scheduled state-run or private buses run the same route for roughly INR 200-400 and take 3.5-5 hours.

By Train & Bus

Train: Hospet is served by Hosapete Junction (HPT). There are direct trains from Bangalore (Yeshvantpur / Bangalore City), Hyderabad and other regional hubs; Bangalore-Hosapete trains typically take 7-9 hours and fares range from about INR 150 (sleeper/second sitting) to INR 400-1,200 (3A/2A/AC). From Hubli the rail journey is shorter (≈3-4 hours) with typical fares INR 100-400.

Bus: Hospet has a KSRTC bus stand (Hospet RTC Bus Stand) with frequent services from Bangalore, Hubli, Hyderabad and Bellary. Non-AC/state express buses generally cost INR 300-600 depending on distance and take 6-9 hours from Bangalore; AC/Volvo services are usually INR 600-1,000 and are faster and more comfortable for overnight travel.
