Hong Kong Park is an 8-hectare urban park located in the Central district of Hong Kong Island, opened in 1991 as a landscaped public space combining gardens, water features and cultural facilities. The park sits on a steep site and integrates modern landscaping with historic buildings and exhibition spaces.
A large walk-in aviary with multiple viewing levels, a glasshouse conservatory housing tropical plant displays, and the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware located within the park’s grounds. Paths, terraces and ponds link the facilities and provide easily accessible routes through the park for short visits.
The site was created by terracing and landscaping a hillside between Government Hill and the commercial district, reprovisioning some historic colonial structures within new parkland. It functions as a green public amenity amid dense urban development.
