The Homomonument in Amsterdam is a public memorial commemorating the persecution of LGBT people and celebrating resistance and emancipation. It consists of three large pink granite triangles set into the pavement to form a larger triangle, echoing the pink triangle used during Nazi persecution.
Designed by the artist Karin Daan and unveiled in 1987, the monument is used for public ceremonies, vigils and gatherings related to LGBT history and rights. Its placements point to locations of historic and civic significance and create a visible urban remembrance site.
The monument occupies a small city-square setting on the Singel canal near the Westerkerk and Anne Frank House, and is accessible year-round.
