Hokkaido Koma-ga-take, commonly called Mount Komagatake on Hokkaido’s Oshima Peninsula, is a stratovolcano rising to around 1,131 metres. It is a prominent landmark on southern Hokkaido and is known for steep slopes and alpine vegetation near the summit.
The mountain is visited for hiking and mountain views, with trails that approach the summit from different sides and offer panoramic views of the surrounding peninsula and coastal bays. Weather can change rapidly at altitude so walkers commonly plan for alpine conditions.
