Hluboká Castle

Hluboká Castle is a Neo-Gothic chateau near Hluboká nad Vltavou in South Bohemia, noted for its romanticised, castle-like appearance influenced by English Tudor models. The site combines ornate 19th-century interiors with a surrounding landscaped park and public access for tours.

Interiors include state rooms, a picture gallery and service spaces restored to reflect noble residential use; the surrounding English-style park provides promenades and views of the castle silhouette. The castle is a popular day-visit destination in the region.

The site originated as a medieval fortress and was substantially rebuilt during a 19th-century campaign by the Schwarzenberg family to create the present Neo-Gothic appearance. Its evolution reflects layered periods of construction from medieval to modern times.
