Historical Monuments of Mtskheta

The Historical Monuments of Mtskheta are a group of early Christian monuments in the town of Mtskheta, Georgia, that together document the adoption of Christianity in eastern Georgia. The ensemble includes churches and monasteries that date from the early medieval period.

Prominent highlights are the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a major 11th-century cathedral, and the hilltop Jvari Monastery, which largely dates to the 6th and 7th centuries; the ensemble also includes the Samtavro monastic complex.
