Hirkan National Park is a protected area in southeastern Azerbaijan established to conserve the relict broadleaf Hyrcanian forests and associated biodiversity. The park safeguards ancient woodland habitats along the southern Caspian lowlands and adjacent foothills.
The protected area contains dense, species-rich forests with many endemic and relict plants, and provides habitat for regional wildlife. It is managed for conservation, research and limited visitor access on designated paths.
The park lies in the Lankaran District of Azerbaijan near the Caspian Sea coast and borders the Talysh mountain foothills, forming part of a larger forested corridor along the southeastern fringe of the country.
- Forest conservation: Protects relict lowland broadleaf forests of the Hyrcanian (Hirkan) ecoregion, home to a number of endemic tree and plant species not found elsewhere in the Caucasus-Caspian area.
