Hidirlik Tower
Tower Historic coastal tower in Antalya's old harbor
A circular Roman tower on Antalya’s old harbour cliff in Kaleiçi. Tourists photograph its stone silhouette, walk the nearby marina and use the viewpoint for sea and city shots while exploring the narrow Ottoman lanes.
Hidirlik Tower is a short, cylindrical stone tower located in the old harbour area of Antalya on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. It is an archaeological structure that marks the historic seafront of the city.
The tower provides panoramic views of the Antalya marina and the coastline from a small surrounding park area; its footprint and height make it a close-range viewpoint rather than a large fortress. Visitors often photograph the tower with the sea and cliffs as a backdrop.
Archaeologists date the masonry to the Roman period, with the surviving stone structure representing later repairs and restorations. Historically it served as a lookout and as part of the coastal defences and harbour complex.
The tower sits in Kaleiçi, Antalya’s historic old town, immediately above the marina and adjacent to the seaside promenade and Karaalioğlu Park. It is within walking distance of the harbourfront and the narrow streets of the historic district.
- Sunset viewpoint: Perched at the edge of Antalya's old harbour, the tower is a compact viewpoint popular at sunset for views across the Mediterranean and the marina.
How to Get to Hidirlik Tower #
From Antalya city centre (Republic Square), walk west along the coastal path through Karaalioğlu Park for about 15-20 minutes to Kaleiçi and the old harbour. The tower sits on the cliffs above the harbour entrance. It’s also a short walk (5-10 minutes) from Antalya’s Hadrian’s Gate. Taxis can drop visitors at the park entrance but the tower itself is most easily reached on foot via the cobbled streets of Kaleiçi.
