Helenesee Lake

Helenesee is a freshwater lake in Brandenburg, Germany, situated in the district south of Frankfurt (Oder). It is a local recreational lake popular with day visitors and outdoor activities.

The lake offers sandy beaches and designated bathing areas, with opportunities for swimming, sunbathing and non-motorised watersports. Several shoreline access points make it suitable for family visits and local diving clubs use parts of the lake for training.

The lake occupies a former extraction site that filled with water after mining operations ceased; the conversion to a recreational lake took place in the late 20th century. Since then it has been developed with basic visitor facilities and maintained as a leisure area.

Helenesee sits roughly 8 km south of Frankfurt (Oder) in eastern Brandenburg, surrounded by mixed woodland and open recreational land. The lake is accessible by regional roads from the surrounding towns and villages.
