Heiligenkreuz Abbey is a Cistercian monastery in the Vienna Woods of Lower Austria, founded in 1133. It is one of the oldest continually occupied Cistercian monasteries in the world and retains a large monastic community and active seminary.

The site comprises a Romanesque-Gothic abbey church, a medieval cloister and monastic buildings open to visitors for viewing and worship. The abbey is notable for its preserved medieval architecture and ongoing liturgical life.

Founded in 1133 by Margrave Leopold III, the monastery has remained a religious center for the Cistercian order and has undergone restorations and additions over many centuries while preserving its medieval core.

The abbey sits in the Heiligenkreuz village in the Vienna Woods, within Lower Austria, surrounded by forested hills south of Vienna.
