Heichal Shlomo Museum

Heichal Shlomo is a mid-20th-century building in central Jerusalem that served as the seat of Israel’s Chief Rabbinate and today functions as a cultural and museum complex. It occupies a prominent block on King David Street near the historic city center.

The complex houses exhibition space and cultural institutions focused on Jewish heritage and religious history, together with event and lecture facilities. It is frequently visited for its museum displays and for guided visits related to the religious institutions formerly based there.

The building was constructed in the mid-20th century to house the offices and institutions of the Chief Rabbinate and ancillary communal facilities, and later adapted to include museum and cultural functions. Over time its role shifted from administrative seat to museum and cultural venue.
