The easiest way to reach Harput is to travel to Elazığ (by bus or via Elazığ Airport) and then take a short taxi or local dolmuş/minibus up to the Harput quarter and castle area from the city centre; the climb up from the town is a short drive or walk from Elazığ’s central area.
