How to Get to Haql
Haql (Al-Jouf Province area) is served principally by road from regional airports such as Tabuk or by cross-border routes; there is no direct passenger rail connection. Road transfers and private vehicles are the practical choices for reaching Haql.
Tabuk Regional Airport (TUU): Tabuk is the nearest Saudi airport serving the northern provinces; from Tabuk you can reach border towns by road, often requiring several hours depending on route and immigration procedures.
King Hussein/ Aqaba (AQJ) - cross-border option: For some international travellers it may be faster to fly to Aqaba (Jordan) or nearby regional airports and continue overland into northwestern Saudi border areas, but check visa and border-crossing rules carefully.
Train: Saudi Arabia’s passenger rail network (SAR) does not provide direct local service into small border towns like Haql; rail is not a practical option for reaching Haql.
Bus / Intercity coach: Road transport is the primary way to reach Haql: intercity coaches and private cars are used for long-distance travel in the northwest. Local taxis handle short-haul movement; schedules and services can be sparse, so plan ahead.

Where to Stay in Haql #
- Taba / Aqaba hotels (nearby cross-border) - More mid-range options across the border.
- Local Haql hotel listings - Check booking platforms for current availability.
- Kempinski Hotel Aqaba (across border) - Luxury international option in Aqaba.
Where to Eat in Haql #

Haql’s evening life is low-key and largely family-friendly with cafés and seaside promenades. Alcohol-focused nightlife is restricted in line with local regulations, so options are limited compared with larger coastal cities.
Shopping in Haql #
Shopping is modest: local shops, small markets and cafés meet daily needs. You won’t find large malls; for more variety head to larger nearby cities in the region. Souvenir and specialty shopping options are minimal, so plan purchases accordingly.
