The Hall of Arts (Művészetek Palotája, commonly known as MÜPA) is a major cultural complex in Budapest’s IX district that opened in 2005. It was created as a multi-venue arts centre combining concert, theatre and museum facilities.
The complex was purpose-built in the early 21st century to provide modern concert, theatre and exhibition facilities for Budapest and to host international festivals. Since opening it has served as a principal venue for touring orchestras, ensembles and contemporary art shows.
Sited on the Pest side of the Danube in central Budapest’s IX district (Ferencváros), it sits near the riverfront and is within walking or short transit distance of central transport hubs.

How to Get to Hall of Arts #
Both venues are at or near Hősök tere (Heroes’ Square) and are served by the Millennium Underground (M1) line; multiple trams and buses also stop at or near the square.
