A national park centred on the Gyeryongsan mountain massif in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea, known for steep granite peaks and a dense trail network. The park includes forested slopes, cultural sites and temples and is a well used regional hiking destination.

Hiking options range from short valley walks to longer ridge routes that lead to the park’s highest point at about 845 metres. The park contains several historic Buddhist temples, including Gapsa, Donghaksa and Sinwonsa, which are integrated into walking routes and are frequent visit points.

The area has long been valued for both spiritual practice and recreation; the mountain and its temples have historical significance locally and were designated a national park to protect the landscape and cultural sites. The park is managed with marked trails, parking areas and facilities concentrated at main access points.

Gyeryongsan lies near the city of Daejeon and stretches across parts of South Chungcheong Province; its proximity to urban centres makes it a common day‑trip destination for hikers and pilgrims.

  • When to go: Trail network includes short scenic walks and longer ridge routes; spring and autumn are the most popular seasons for hiking because of mild weather and foliage.
  • Temples: Several Buddhist temples are located inside the park and are accessible on foot via well‑marked trails, offering cultural as well as natural attractions.
