Gubałówka

Gubałówka is a forested ridge immediately above the town of Zakopane in southern Poland, with a summit at roughly 1,123 metres. It is a well known local viewpoint and recreation area for both winter sports and summer visitors.

From the ridge summit there are wide panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains and of Zakopane; the viewpoint and small tourist facilities at the top are the main attractions. A passenger funicular from Zakopane provides direct access and there are slopes and walking trails used in winter and summer.

The ridge developed as a tourist destination in the 20th century with infrastructure added over time to serve skiing and sightseeing. The funicular and visitor amenities have made it one of Zakopane’s primary excursion sites.

Gubałówka sits immediately north of Zakopane in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, forming a ridge above the town and overlooking the Tatra range to the south.
