Großvenediger is a 3,666-metre peak in the Venediger Group of the Hohe Tauern mountains in Austria, known for extensive glaciation and alpine climbing routes. It lies on the border region between the states of Tyrol and Salzburg and is a major objective for summer ascents.

The mountain is characterised by broad glaciated slopes and long ridge approaches rather than sharply pointed rock faces, making it a classic high-Alpine summit for glacier travel and summit tours. Climbs typically involve glacier crossings and crevasse navigation, and the region is managed as part of Hohe Tauern National Park which protects the high-mountain environment.

Mountaineering and guided ascents are common in the summer months when firm snow conditions reduce objective hazards; huts and marked routes provide standard approaches to the summit.
