Grosser Mythen is a distinctive limestone peak in the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland, with a summit elevation of about 1,898 metres. It is a well-known local landmark and a defining feature of the Mythen massif.
The Mythen massif has long been a regional symbol and a feature of local folklore; it has been used for grazing and local orientation for centuries and became a recreational hiking destination with the rise of alpine tourism.
The peak rises above the town of Schwyz and the surrounding valleys in central Switzerland, making it visible from large parts of the canton and readily reachable from nearby transport hubs.
