Große Bischofsmütze is a prominent limestone peak in the Gosaukamm range of the Dachstein region, in the state of Salzburg, Austria, with an elevation around 2,458 metres. Its twin-summit profile gives the peak its name, which means “bishop’s mitre.”
The mountain is a natural limestone formation shaped by alpine geology; it has featured in local mountaineering since the development of alpine sport in the 19th and 20th centuries and became known for its challenging rock routes.
