Grand Anse Beach is the principal public beach in Saint George Parish on the southwestern coast of Grenada, immediately adjacent to the town of St. George’s. It is one of the island’s best-known beaches and a central focus for tourism and recreation.
The shoreline comprises a long, wide sandy bay with shallow, generally calm Caribbean waters protected by offshore reef formations in places. The beach is lined by hotels, restaurants and bars and is commonly used for swimming, sunbathing and informal snorkeling near the reefed areas.
Tourism development over the mid and late 20th century established Grand Anse as Grenada’s main resort strip, with facilities concentrated along the main coastal road. The beach remains a public amenity and a primary destination for both island visitors and day-trippers from St. George’s.
Grand Anse sits on Grenada’s southwest coast within Saint George Parish, directly beside St. George’s town and within short driving distance of the island’s main international airport. The setting is gently sloping sand backed by low coastal development and tropical vegetation.

How to Get to Grand Anse Beach #
Grand Anse is about 4-5 minutes’ drive from the center of St. George’s and roughly 15 minutes from Maurice Bishop International Airport (Point Salines). Taxis are the typical way to reach the beach; some hotels provide shuttle service. From St. George’s, a short bus or taxi ride along the coast road (main coastal route) puts the sand within sight.
