Goat Fell is the highest mountain on the Isle of Arran in Scotland, forming the island’s dominant peak at 874 metres. The summit is a landmark for walkers and is the island’s principal hill for day hikes.
Raised paths and stone pitches lead from the main approach at Brodick to the summit ridge; routes are popular with day hikers and provide exposed scrambling on some sections. The summit offers wide, 360-degree views over the Firth of Clyde, neighbouring islands and the Ayrshire and Kintyre coasts on clear days.
The mountain has long been used for recreation and hillwalking and is a defining feature of Arran’s upland terrain. Routes are maintained for public access and the hill is frequented year-round by walkers prepared for mountain conditions.
