Gniezno Cathedral

Gniezno Cathedral is the Roman Catholic archcathedral in Gniezno, Poland, historically important as the medieval ecclesiastical center of the Polish state and the seat of the archbishop. It is one of Poland’s principal early medieval churches and contains notable Romanesque and Gothic elements.

Key interior highlights include the 12th-century Gniezno Doors, bronze panels showing the life of St. Adalbert, and the cathedral crypt that preserves relics associated with that saint. The building has been rebuilt and enlarged several times over the centuries, resulting in a mixture of architectural styles and restorations.
