Glimmingehus is a late medieval stone manor house in Skåne, southern Sweden, built around the turn of the 16th century. It is noted for its well-preserved defensive architecture and interior spaces dating from its original construction.
The site includes a multi-storey keep with vaulted cellars, a great hall and defensive features such as a surrounding moat and courtyard. Guided tours and on-site displays interpret the building’s defensive design, household functions and later history.
Built as a fortified noble residence at the end of the medieval period, Glimmingehus has survived largely intact and has been conserved for public visitation. Its architecture illustrates the transition from medieval fortification to residential manor house.
The manor stands in southeastern Skåne, near the coastal plain of Österlen and within driving distance of regional towns such as Simrishamn and Ystad.

Glimmingehus is near Simrishamn on the Skåne coast. By car it’s about 15 minutes from Simrishamn town (signposted). Regional buses run from Simrishamn and Ystad; check local timetables in high season. The nearest railhead is Tomelilla or Ystad, followed by a short bus or taxi.
