Glacier Peak is a remote, heavily glaciated stratovolcano in the North Cascades of Washington State, within a federally designated wilderness area. It is one of the higher volcanic peaks in the Cascade Range and is characterised by steep alpine ridges and glaciers.

Routes onto the mountain involve long approaches through rugged forest and alpine terrain and are generally undertaken by experienced mountaineers. The peak supports several glaciers and offers technical climbing routes rather than straightforward hikes.

Glacier Peak formed through repeated volcanic activity typical of the Cascade volcanic arc; its eruptions have left tephra layers in regional deposits. Because of its remoteness the mountain has seen fewer ascents and less infrastructure than more accessible Cascade volcanoes.

The peak sits in northern Washington State within the Glacier Peak Wilderness, reached by long forest roads and trail systems in the North Cascades region. The nearest population centres are small mountain towns and regional gateway communities rather than a single large city.
