St. Peter’s Church

St. Peter’s Church (St. Petri) is Hamburg’s oldest parish church, with origins that trace back to the 11th century and major Gothic rebuilding during the later medieval period. It occupies a central location close to the Rathaus and the historic market quarter.

The church’s notable features include a tall tower with a public viewpoint and a Gothic brick nave and choir that have been repaired and restored several times. The interior is used for regular services and cultural events, including organ and choral concerts.
