How to Get to Gananoque
Gananoque (1000 Islands region) is typically reached via Kingston (YGK airport and VIA Rail station) or by car from Ottawa/Toronto. The town is well connected by road; public transit options are limited so transfers from Kingston are common.
Kingston/Norman Rogers Airport (YGK): Kingston is the closest commercial airport for Gananoque. From YGK it’s about a 25-35 minute drive to Gananoque; taxi fares are typically CAD 35-60 and car hire is available.
Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International (YOW) / Toronto Pearson (YYZ): For more flight options, use Ottawa (about 1.5-2 hours’ drive) or Toronto (about 2-3 hours). From these airports you can rent a car or take a combination of train/bus to Kingston and then a local transfer to Gananoque.
Train: VIA Rail serves Kingston station (Kingston, ON); from Kingston you can take a local shuttle, taxi or bus to Gananoque (approx 30-40 minutes by road). VIA fares vary by route and booking class.
