Gadeokdo is an island off the southwestern coast of Busan, South Korea. It is part of Busan municipality and has been integrated into the city’s transport network through bridge and road connections.
The island contains small coastal settlements, agricultural land and beaches rather than major tourist attractions. It is used mainly for local fishing, farming and low-density residential areas rather than mass tourism.
Historically an agricultural and fishing community, the island has become more accessible in recent decades as transport links to Busan were improved. There are no widely known ancient monuments or major historic structures on the island.
Gadeokdo sits off the southwest coast of the Korean Peninsula in the coastal waters adjacent to Busan, about 25 to 30 kilometres from central Busan.
