Funivia di San Marino

The Funivia di San Marino is an aerial cable car linking the town of Borgo Maggiore with the City of San Marino atop Mount Titano. It functions as a short urban cable car providing both regular public transit and easy tourist access to the historic center.

The installation is primarily valued for the quick uphill connection and the views it offers over the surrounding plain and Adriatic coast; the stations sit at the lower market town and the upper medieval city respectively. Rides are short and frequent, making it practical for day visitors and locals transporting between the two settlements.

As an urban transport link it has been adapted over time to meet visitor and commuter demand while preserving access to the historic centre. The infrastructure consists of two terminal stations and the aerial cableway spanning the steep slope of Mount Titano.

The lower station is in Borgo Maggiore and the upper station is in the City of San Marino on Mount Titano, within the microstate of San Marino and close to the Italian border.
