Fundació Joan Miró is a museum and cultural foundation in Barcelona dedicated to the work of the artist Joan Miró, founded in 1975. The institution presents Miró’s paintings, sculptures and works on paper alongside temporary contemporary art exhibitions.

The collection spans major works by Miró across media and includes study materials and archives that document his practice. The building, designed by Josep Lluís Sert, provides galleries, study spaces and a rooftop terrace with views over the city. Rotating exhibitions and educational programmes complement the permanent collection, making it a centre for Modern and contemporary art on Montjuïc.

Fundació Joan Miró is on Montjuïc hill in Barcelona. Take the metro L3 to Paral·lel and transfer to the Montjuïc funicular, then expect a 10-15 minute uphill walk to the museum; alternatively, from Plaça d’Espanya you can take local buses (for example bus 55) or walk up Montjuïc. The site is within the city and well signed from major Montjuïc access points.

• Take the Montjuïc funicular from Parallel to cut the uphill walk and arrive at the museum fresher - the funicular drops you close to the Miró museum complex.
• Don't miss the sculpture garden and the rooftop terrace for panoramic views of Barcelona; many visitors focus only on the galleries and skip those outdoor spaces, which are great for photos and quieter contemplation.
