About Funaota
Funaota is an islet (motu) within the Nukufetau atoll in Tuvalu. It is one of the small reef islets that form the ring around the atoll’s central lagoon.
Typical features of such islets include sandy shorelines, fringing reefs and vegetation adapted to atoll conditions; they are generally visited for their beaches and lagoon access. There is no large permanent infrastructure on most Nukufetau islets.
Funaota sits in the central Pacific within Tuvalu’s Nukufetau atoll, administered from the atoll’s main settlement. Access is by boat from the inhabited islets of the atoll.
